Wasteland is a story of God’s gentle guidance of His beloved through the wilderness.
Wasteland started as an album about a “desert experience” Kayla had battling health issues. The writing process began in the spring of 2018 and “concluded" in January 2020. Then the rest of 2020 happened. As various world events unfolded, it became clear that this album and songs were bigger than any personal struggles and even herself.

Wasteland is a story of God’s gentle guidance of His children through uncertain times – the Green Valleys, the Wilderness, and even No Man’s Land. Through it all, God draws His beloved nearer to Himself. Through the refiner’s fire, He transforms us into a New Creation, bringing us forth as gold.

Her love for music began at a very young age, as she listened to an Amy Grant cassette and held ther album sleeve, declaring, “I’m gonna do that someday.”
